November Prevention Focus The Great American Smoke Out The Great American Smoke Out takes place on November 19, 2009. On this day, people will be challenged to quit smoking for at least one day in hopes that they might quit for good. Research tells us that smokers experience more success when they receive support. November 17, 2009 Next SPCA Meeting Members of the Statewide Prevention Coalition Association will be meeting on November 17, 2009 at Drug-Free Action Alliance from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. to address the scope of the prescription drug problem in Ohio and what communities are currently doing to prevent abuse and overdoses. Drug-Free Action Alliance Releases its New Environmental Prevention Guide
Drug-Free Action Alliance is now accepting nominations for its Enrique Camarena Award
Drug-Free Work Week Toolkit Leadership to Keep Children Alcohol Free, a unique coalition of current and former Governors' spouses, federal agencies, and public and private organizations, is an initiative to prevent the use of alcohol by children ages 9 to 15. They have partnered with the U.S. Department of Labor and Working Partners to create a toolkit to provide community leaders with tools to take action at the state and local levels to encourage the adoption of drug-free workplace programs that incorporate underage drinking prevention education for parents.
