Properly Classifying and Taxing Alcopops


Drug-Free Action Alliance is bringing attention to alcopops which are sweet alcoholic beverages that appeal to children. Alcopops are currently classified by the state of Ohio as beer. Drug-Free Action Alliance is urging the state to reclassify these colorful, sweet-tasting, alcoholic products as mixed beverages.

Keep the Minimum Legal Drinking Age 21

Drug-Free Action Alliance strongly supports all states retaining 21 as the legal drinking age for alcoholic beverages. Alcohol is the number one youth drug problem in America and more young prople die from alcohol-related causes than from all other illicit drugs combined.

Alcohol Awareness Month

Drug-Free Action Alliance is observing the 22nd Annual Alcohol Awareness Month this April by bringing attention to the disease of alcoholism and emphasizing the health risks associated with problem drinking. Salvia Divinorum

Drug-Free Action Alliance followed Ohio House Bill 215 as it made its way through the Ohio General Assembly. HB 215 which bans the sale and possession of Salvia Divinorum in Ohio, passed both chambers of the Ohio General Assembly and was signed by Governor Ted Strickland.
